autumn-colour leaves leaf activities for schools

We've made it to Half Term.

Our member schools have been busy this term planting bulbs, sowing hardy annuals and getting their plots shipshape for the winter. Meanwhile we have been planning activities for the run up to Christmas. (Shh. Don't tell anyone but Sara has already made some Christmas wreaths!) Tulip planting starts in earnest after the holidays but, for now, teachers and pupils can enjoy a well-earned rest.

The wild weather of the last few days has brought down quite a lot of leaves. Resourceful as ever, Cally will be making the most of this when she runs an Autumn Colours activity day at The Courts, in Holt next Thursday. Children are guaranteed to go home happy and exhausted after a magic carpet making session. Entry is free for National Trust members and parents can enjoy a stroll around a delightful garden, rounded off with coffee and delicious cake in the tearooms. It's a great way for children, parents and teachers to see Our Flower Patch in action.

Whether you're out and about over Half Term or staying at home, we recommend jumping in  piles of leaves and getting creative with nature's autumn bounty. Have a look at our Pinterest board for inspiration.

And do look out for details of a competition and fabulous giveaway on our wordpress blog soon, just in time for Christmas.

Have a happy holiday.
